Who has access to the content on AfrangO?
- The content shared on the platform is a resource for everyone operating in the social change space, including unregistered and informal FGOs and community-based organisations. Participation in discussions forums on public pages will also be open to anyone.
- Knowledge sharing is encouraged, as we believe everyone has valuable input to provide, especially those on the fringes. The importance of this principle of openness is described by Francois Bonnici and Cynthia Rayner in their recent article that we are featuring on theAfrangO blog titled The hidden ‘systems work’ that has the potential to change the world as we know it:
“(A)uthors Ori Brafman and Rod Beckstrom point out in their breakaway management book, The Starfish and the Spider –that the best knowledge is often at the fringes or the margins; the least likely place you’ll find traditional “experts”. Finding ways to allow the knowledge held by those who are living the “problem” every day – be that poverty or illness – to be captured and shared so that more people can solve the problem themselves, is a vital part of systems work.”
