Who can get an AfrangO profile?
The opportunity to be an AfrangO profile holder is limited to FGOs who meet our entry criteria. Entry criteria have been developed in support of the following:
- As part of our ecosystem building work we at AfrangO espouse “Thought leadership” and “Standards” as high priorities.
- We realise that we all need to start somewhere, and when you start you do not know everything. Creating a league of seasoned FGOs to set the standard, allows informal community based organisations and young FGOs the opportunity to learn and develop.
- As part of our service offering to attain CSI funding, to ensure the profiles stay free for FGOs for as long as possible, is that the organisations we work with and introduce to them have been pre-screened.
FGO admission criteria to be considered eligible include:
- In operation for 2 years or longer; and
- Referred by current profile holders, or
- Have 4 contactable programme references to speak to culture of respect towards participants; and
- Qualitative and/or quantitative evidence of impact; and
- Sound monitoring, evaluation and learning practices; and
- Sound financial management practices and willingness to submit to an audit; and
- Signing of affidavit by FGO leadership to the effect that neither the FGO leadership nor any of their employees or people under their direction have been found guilty of any of the offences listed in the Sexual Offences Act of 2017 of South Africa, or its local equivalent, and that steps have been taken by them to check the Sexual Offenders registries to this effect. Willingness to sign and submit affidavits to this effect; and
- Affirmation of willingness to obtain a police clearance certificate; and
- Declaration of any conflict of interest; and
- Declaration of any material that may be relevant in determining whether the FGO can be considered operating bona fide and in line with the UN universal declaration of human rights.
