What is AfrangO?
AfrangO is a digital ecosystem focused on FGOs and their donor and beneficiary environment. It is housed on iamcitizen.africa, designed to leverage the platform revolution in a way that supports philanthropy across Africa.
By capacitating For Good Organisation and connecting stakeholders, aspects such as impact and needs exposure, as well as transparent sharing and storytelling, increase credibility. Sharing knowledge and opportunities in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals are at the heart of this ecosystem - ‘partnering for the goals’ is our main objective.
The name “AfrangO” is a combination of Africa and NGO. Afrango is however not just for NGOs. Our key audience, For Good Organisations, includes NGOs, NPOs and social enterprises, and we refer to them as FGOs in AfrangO jargon. Together, let’s ensure that there is representation from the private, public and civil sectors.
AfrangO is a multilingual ecosystem, welcoming organisations that use English, French, Portuguese, Swahili or Arabic. We have started with English and French content, and hope to extend the diversity of content further soon in order to ensure that the whole continent is incorporated. Google translate however, works well on the platform, accommodating all.
