Who are we?
Youth with Disabilities Organization (YoWDO) is a non-governmental organization that works to promote the welfare of youth with disabilities in Tanzania. The organization is founded by males and females young people with disabilities and embraces all types of disabilities with eagerness to promote inclusion of all youth with disabilities in crosscutting issues. Youth with disabilities are among the most marginalized and poorest of the world’s youth population. They are more likely to face severe social, economic, and civic disparities as compared with their peers. For many youth with disabilities, exclusion, isolation, and abuse as well as lack of educational and economic opportunities are daily experiences (UNICEF, 2013). Youth with disabilities also face significant barriers to finding and maintaining decent employment. As countries continue their efforts toward poverty reduction and equitable development it is crucial that youth with disabilities are offered opportunities
